    Hailing from Houston Texas,  Jake is a long time theater activist.  He started out as a lighting electrician during his freshman year at John Foster Dulles High Scholl in Sugar Land Texas.  Over the course of his four years in high school he honed his technical theater skills, occupying such roles as lighting designer, set designer, master carpenter, master electrician, and technical director until finally he began studying acting during his junior year.  From there he went on to attend the drama program at the University of St. Thomas, where he received numerous awards from the drama department such as  best new actor, best actor in a comedy, best actor in a drama,  best supporting actor, and most valuable technician before receiving his B.A. in drama with an acting emphasis.  As a playwright he was mentored by the head of the drama department Sam Havens, and studied scene design directly under Claire McDonald, the Chair of the Fine Arts Program.  He was the chief drama instructor for the Fort Bend Theater Drama Program for two years, where he taught acting for ages 6 through adult at novice to professional levels, and worked as a private drama coach for numerous Houston area actors.  He participated in the ground breaking Actor Writer Collaboration at the University of St. Thomas,  and won multiple praise for his set designs with partner Chris Tennison.  Jacob Millwee has appeared in 38 plays,  and has been a set designer, master carpenter, or lighting designer for over 40 productions, included 10 technical director credits, and has directed two plays all at the university, community, and non-profit level. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

    Jake is also the author of five one act plays and is currently working on his first full length script.  A few of his favorite roles are: Nicholas Mack in the world premiere of Food, Frank Luby in All My Sons, Charlie in The Foreigner, Fox in Speed the Plow, Al Freeman in Night and Her Stars,  and Roland in the world premiere of Hotel Fauxpas (later renamed Hotel Pickle). 

    His theater career aside,  Jacob Millwee spent twelve years as a Boy Scout,  three years as a swimming instructor for traumatized adults and one year as a Pool Manager for the Fort Bend YMCA.  He is a passionate chef and bartender, and an avid reader.  A long time backpacker and canoe-er, he has recently discovered bouldering.  He would like to thank everybody, but most of all his fellow Third Coasters who have not only put up with him, but encouraged him.
